And a maple bridge! I love maple, too. But why the refin? What made that necessary?

yes, she is definitely my most maple guitar primary reason for refinishing her was to bring the top to the forefront, i have a bunch of guitars but this one has the most perfect top on her, beautiful silking/medullary rays and stunning grain. i have done a fair amount of french polish but wanted to keep this one in its original format of finish. kept it simple:cleaned her bones and then sprayed 6 thin coats, then worked with wet sanding from 800-1000-2000-3000-5000 3m paper and then hand polished with ceramic cloths and my own mixture. I fully appreciate those that wear their battle scars on guitars with pride, but that isnt me. Im a player and a polisher. I truly get off on playing and enjoying their beauty as pieces of art and "masterpieces of wood" I restored my first guitar 40 yrs ago, a 50's hollowbody my dad gave me for my birthday and i was hooked after that. Playing guitar relaxes me and lowers blood pressure just as much as the restoring does.
