Default New Guitar Day!!

I had been looking at cedar topped guitars and I found a NOS Breedlove Performance Focus for a ridiculous price. It was made in December of 2005 according to Breedlove and shipped to Guitar Center in January of 2006. The strings were absolutely gross and I'm sure they were the original strings. The guitar sounded good with the extremely dead strings so I knew it would sound even better with new strings. It wasn't as dirty as most guitars in Guitar Center, but I guess it was because no one was playing it that much for the 3 years it had been in the store. The sales guy said people don't really like Breedlove's out here. The neck looked good, the ebony fingerboard, bridge and truss rod cover looked a little dry, but no hanging frets. Only a little buckle and pick rash if you tilted the guitar just right in the light.

I am very pleased with the guitar and the price. It is weird, I have almost totally replaced my guitars with newer ones over the last year and three of them have been custom shop Breedloves that I got for xx-xx% off MSRP. The Breedlove gods are smiling on me.

Congrats! That's a nice collection of Breedloves. But the Silver Creek is your go-to git, right?

In a way, yes. It goes to the park. It goes to the porch. It goes to the couch. It goes to untrained hands. It goes when I'm too scared to take the others. Though I have been hauling around the Focus since Thursday, everywhere I go just in case I have a moment to play it. I really really like the cedar.
