This is not a Guitalele but a Lili'u which is very different due to the use of octave strings. I really want one ...

As for Guitaleles several of the models have been mentioned but I would also like to point out the Gretsch guitar uke:

https://www.amazon.com/Gretsch-G9126.../dp/B00B3DXHFS

I have its 4 string (low G) solid wood equivalent (G9120-SM) and it's an outstanding uke that plays like butter and has a pretty big sound, definitely not the plinky type, due to its deeper body. I compared it to several Kalas that people paid more than double what I did and the Kalas didn't even come close in terms of sound and playability (they are pretty though).

Here is my cocobolo guitalele next to a cocobolo concert uke. I absolutely love it and takes it with me everywhere.

Cordoba makes a 6-string Ukulele-sized guitar, tuned up a fourth.

Ibanez makes a 6 string piccolo guitar also tuned up a fourth, uses steel strings. One description says it is a ukulele body. Some different info on the specs for this.

Default Baritone or super tenor

Yes, baritone uke, like Pono Pro Classic, or a Super Tenor with a low g. 12 string tenors are also interesting, Ohana makes a nice entry level one.

My latest purchase is the Cordoba CE-SM Mini. This is a bit more of a deluxe version... It has a "spalted maple" veneer on the back and sides (top is solid spruce), a single cutaway, a pickup, etc.

Scale is a bit longer than the Yamaha offering meaning that the instrument feels much more "guitar-like" and I have no problems playing jazz chords up the neck.

Thing looks like it was intended to be a steel-string, with a pin bridge and standard tuning head... But not so.

Cordoba gives you a link to a video showing you how to put ball-ends on standard nylon strings or you can buy their own "Aquila" set which has them.

They also show you how to properly apply the nylon strings to the standard pegs.

I'm really enjoying the little guy... I'ts much more versatile than the guilele, plays like a regular guitar, and is small enough for an "easy chair" instrument.

Favilla made instruments called "dulcettes" which were basically six-string ukes. They're wonderful....
