This is a 28MB wav file, but if you have a big pipe, it sounds okay to me. I have been playing with a Swedish fiddle group, and am starting to play some of the tunes on guitar as well. Here's Ambroson Polka, recorded in the last hour on the JB-L00.

Who knew there were Sweedish fiddle groups? Not me. Some nice playing there Bruce.

Well, right there above this post you see the reason I've ordered the next two consecutive guitars from Bruce. First comes the traditional koa OM with Bruce's touch (documented several posts above) and next will come a guitar much like the incredibly different guitar directly above. That range of creativity and experience is pretty unusual and I'm happy to tap into it. It's kinda the traditional v. the no-holds-barred and I can't wait to play them side by side.

It may be a good thing Tim has me building the more conservative guitar first. I do indulge myself in thinking my JB series guitars are in many ways superior to my FT series guitars, particularly in regard to ergonomics and tonal balance. The Koa OM is almost certainly going to represent the top of my lutherie game, and if the JB is to be noticeably superior I am going to have to exceed myself spectacularly. It would have been easier to fulfill my prophesy by building a typical stellar JB and then slacking off on the merely mundane FT. As if I were “that guy”. Still, there is some risk that Tim will prefer the OM in the end, but I can live with it if he can.

Here's "The Balkan Hills", a Scots pipe march, recorded with the same set up as yesterday's Ambroson Polka, but a day later. Can you tell any difference?

I have one report that the .wav format is not an issue, any others?

Sounds great in it's early life, and looks amazing! Although I like your pickguard shape, I do love the shape of your guitar sans pickguard. I think you cheated yourself out of a half ounce or so with the wedge you used to balance the guitar on the scale!

It's a give and take thing, Louie. The part taken away on the bass side is added back in on the treble side, thus the middle stays as specs say it should be.

No trouble with the .wav for me. I actually liked the sound in the polka better. Go figure.

No problem. I added it back in live. My Beltuna and your JB sound pretty good together.

While Tim and I hash out the details of the next build, I am thinking about what I will make for Vancouver in August. Can't have any Rosewood, which eliminates a lot of options. I am considering an otherwise conservative 00 13 fret slothead. How about using one of my tree sets, since I'd like to build with it and no one is asking me to?

From what I see an inch down from the neck would be the head and his feet would be at the waist, a perfect sumo wrestler.
