Smile Composite Recommendation

I REALLY LIKE MY COMPOSITE ACOUSTIC GUITAR. I HAVE A 5iM-CE.
THIS IS A WONDERFUL GUITAR THAT'S HARD TO PUT DOWN, TOO BAD TIME PASSES SO QUICKLY WHEN YOU'RE HAVING FUN. CHECK 'EM OUT IF YOU CAN. YOU MIGHT BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

I think that Rainsong and CA both make great guitars and I don't think you could go wrong with either brand. I have played only one Rainsong, and it was a really nice instrument. In the end, I selected the CA 7M-CE as it just seemed a better fit for me and my playing style. I play mostly fingerstyle and being a traditionalist, I liked the older style CA (player series). As pointed out by others, it does have more of a woody sound perhaps, because of CA's use of top bracing.

I ordered the guitar 9 weeks ago and still have another 2 or 3 weeks before it will be delivered. I'm getting anxious but, I think it will be worth the wait.

Well I finally got my composite guitar. Thanks for all the input. I bought a C.A. GX Performer (now called a an 8M-CE) from an AGF member who is in town for the guitar show and Jazz Fest. We had a nice meeting by a lake in a downtown park and I got to try the guitar before I bought it. What a nice way to buy a guitar. I am really enjoying it,the sound is different than wood but not in a bad way and quite honestly, I think it sounds better than the 410 I sold to finance it. (AGF forum again, what a great place). It looks amazing and it is set up beautifully. I was playing it outside today in high humidity, in the hot sun and that pretty much says it all. Here are some Pics taken by the previous owner,he is a much better photograper than me.

Yea! My 5iM-CE has come in. I'll go pick it up on Friday.

The proprietor says that demand is driving the delivery dates way out for these CA guitars.
