I understand - and my gigging partner keeps his Paige on the nut - but then when he needs a cut capo - he reaches for mine!

I use both standard and cut capos in the course of gigs, and different standard ones at that.

I just keep them in my gear bag top tray and lay them out on top of my preamp at every gig. Then if I'm going to an open mic or short gig, I stick a pair of Planet Waves Dual action (one standard and one cut) in the case pocket, and then during the gig put them in my pocket.

But I'm not going to be putting my McKinny/Elliott on the nut of my Olson - because of the Volute. I won't risk chipping or marring the volute on either it or my Bashkin.

I'm glad your Paige fits yours - and I was just pointing out that to me that is a dubious reason to use one. It's similar to clipping the Kyser to the headstock. And I've seen some Martins with chipped decals on the headstock from applying a Kyser to the headstock...not good if you are thinking vintage and value.
