Default Tune o matic vs Bar bridge

I just picked up a 1997 Guild StarfireII. It has a traditional rosewood bridge. I was thinking of changing it for a brighter sound. I'm looking into a tuneomatic or a bar bridge like a Tru Arc

The guitar has a Guild harp tailpiece, not a Bigsby.
Anyone have any personal experiences they can share? Thanks.

I guess it depends on what you like and what sound you are going for. Fortunately, it's a super easy change to implement, and to reverse.

I have an early 2000's Starfire II with a rosewood bridge too. I like it the way it is, but then again, I'm an old fashioned archtop traditionalist. Traditional wisdom (often wrong!) says the TOM will be less acoustic sounding. It might be brighter sounding, but probably comes at the expense of less mids, IMO of the Starfire's virtues. I would love it if you would do the experiment for us all and let us know.

I expected more impact to the acoustic sound when I installed a TOM bridge on a mahogany oval hole archtop. There are a lot of variables.
