Yes, yes we are! I have been learning to "layer up" since November, when I bought a Polaris Slingshot. (Think adult go cart.) Mid-50s F. here yesterday, bright and sunny. That's a bit cool, but I thoroughly enjoyed a couple of hours of exploring some country roads.

Long underwear.
Sweat pants.
Regular pants.
Long-sleeved T-shirt.
Cotton shirt.
Flannel shirt.
Light windbreaker jacket.
Leather jacket.
Scarf and Socks, both of wool.
Winter riding gloves.
Helmet with face shield.

I was comfortable! Don't laugh. I am allergic to cold! (Anything below about 78 F.)

As you know Cotton I have lived most of adult life above 6000 ft and in Snow Country... Just be aware even though it's a great username, and great for warm weather,, it is a very poor insulator. Since your not being very active you can get away with cotton underpants. But for the Long underwear and top layer against your skin You want a wicking synthetic, or combo wicking/insulating synthetic, as the first layer
Then an insulating fleece synthetic or wool as second layer
And then in the case of Riding in the Slingshot a good windblock layer

Speaking of snow, us in the Carson-Tahoe area are getting buried this am. After a very dry January with temps on the 70's, since late February we have gotten some much needed moisture this late winter with a few snow storms that have increased the Sierra snow pack from 2-3 feet to over 10 feet in some areas. The current snow storms could bring up to 5 to 8 feet in the high country. Even the sagebrush is buried.

Indeed! I am learning, but it seems that I have to freeze a bit to convince me to try something better. Appreciate your suggestions. (It was sunny and warm here yesterday - high 70s - so I enjoyed some 4.5 hours driving my Slingshot, and got to visit with some loved ones along the way!)

Long Jon, you are most kind, my friend! Behave yourself, and maybe our Mod Squad will let you live a while longer.
