Default Alternate tunings on the Baby or Big Baby?

Anyone use alternate tunings successfully on the Big Baby? Since the scale length is closer to the full-size guitars, I'm hoping that they'll work better on the Big Baby than they did on my Baby Koa. I use DADGAD and CGCGCD most of the time . . .

Anybody use medium gauge strings and tune down on the regular Baby? I love the look/sound of the Baby Mahogany . . . perhaps if I use medium strings, it'll sound OK in these tunings?

I use drop D alot on my big baby and it really enhances the whole sound. Go for it.
