Smile JR microphone question

JR in aolder post you said you would have bought a Rode NT2 over a NT1A if you had it to do again. What is the big difference that makes it worth almost twice the price. By the way thanks for the heads up to Riksmusic.com. Their pricing is great.

The numbering scheme of course. The NT3 is 3x as much.

The NT2 is one of the sweetest sounding mics I've ever heard. The NT1A is great but it's somewhat limited as it doesn't have the switchable patterns, pad, or bass rolloff like the NT2. So the NT2 will give you more features (that you may not ever need). If you're strictly looking to mic a guitar, it's hard to go wrong with the NT5 pair of mics. These will also work nicely as a vocal mic, too.

Does this one do a figure-eight pattern?

Thanks JR. that was the answer I needed to hear.

Semolina - the way it list the patterns are cardioid and omnidirectional no mention as to figure 8.
TR - What looks aren't a requirement. I might have a chance at the job when you are done
