CA pore fill technique.
To expand on a previous thread, I was interested in other builders experiences and techniques in regards to pore filling with CA glue. I was thinking of a quick wash with thin CA to glue and guard against any cracking, then follow with a medium or thick CA as a pore fill. I plan on using wenge as my test material. Does anyone have any tips or ideas before I give this a go?

Also when I put the CA on my board I spread it around with my finger with a piece of poly vapor barrier between me and the CA. Very little sticks to the stuff. Also keep a can of acetone withing reach as well as a rag.

Charles Fox demonstrated pore filling with medium CA in a class I took some years back. He used a modified small body filler spreader to apply it. It took very little to do a guitar body.

I use sand paper and rub the CA in, in a circular motion. That way you fill the pores with dust not unlike traditional pumice filling.
