They do sound fascinating. Percussion is being revolutionised, and we string pluckers are being left behind.
Saw a guy playing three of them in my town centre recently.

They are available in loads of different keys and scales, andare not allthekind of prices shown, but as I don't know muchabout them, I can't rush to conclusions about quality etc.

I found this :https://www.zephyrhandpans.com/index.html

and this :

Good Find, thanks. The video on the zephyrhandpans main page is entrancing.

When I saw the last one, I looked into them. The big dollar ones are those made by the inventors in Switzerland in the early 2000's. Apparently, not many made before they stopped production. Others have picked up the design since but the originals apparently command these prices.

Default Dual Purpose Panart Hang

I'm guessing that the reason the one at Elderly is so expensive is that it's a dual purpose model. There is probably a latch on the side and it opens up so that you can use it as a wok. I mean, who knew that a musical instrument could be so versatile?

Now a whole generation of builders will start making these things and they will argue on the Internet about the proper metal, thickness, where to put the bumps and if a sound port would help.

Elderly offers "Expert Setup" on it.

Even the monthly payments are almost my rent.

But dang, I want one! I've messed with the tongue drums before, they are a fun and much cheaper alternative.

The $15K version is the updated V-braced version. No intonation problems at all.

I always thought it was kind of like a race to the inane, between a knit beanie in warm weather, and a baseball cap worn backwards

I laughed more when I searched for it.

Question Wow

Well at least shipping is free! I just don't comprehend "Why". I have seen Sonor drum sets for $15-20,000 but this one piece is hard for me to understand. I guess it is cheap compared to a Rembrandt. It is worth what the market dictates.
