Squeaking sounds from Taylor 114e and Fishman Loudbox Mini
I am getting a high pitched squeaking sound when I strum my Taylor 114e through miy Fishman Loudbox Mini. The sound is similar to fingers sliding on the strings, but I'm keeping my fretting hand still. You can hear it as the pick hits the string or when I use my fingers to strum. I use a Dunlop Ultex .60 pick, and I don't hear the squeak when playing unamplified. The guitar was purchased about six months ago, and it has the ES2 pickup system. The amp is about three years old.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the squeak? Last edited by string1399; 06-04-2017 at 12:28 PM. Reason: age of guitar is wrong |

Are you are heavy strummer, or is the action very low? Could be the strings hitting the frets when you strum. This happens to me, as I tune down a half step, and strum heavily at times. To compensate, I set my guitars up with a higher action.
Try and play with your strumming hand closer to the bridge to see if it stops. If it does, you want to gate your action lifted a bit. Then again, it could be something else all together. Worth a try though. |

Change the 9V battery in the ES2

I tried changing the battery, but I'm still hearing the squeak. It's particularly noticeable when strumming an open G chord.

Yes, and I'm still hearing it. It's getting annoying.

It's the ES2. It picks up everything which is good and bad. It seems to pick up a weird sound on the open d and g strings for sure.

I would try the guitar in another amp and see if it was my guitar or my amp.

If its happening on the D & G strings, you need to adjust the middle pickup screw a little.
