AcouStickistNS is there any noise with the pickups on either neck? Hiss etc?

Anyone using the B-Band find they hiss a little?

No hiss or other noise on the B-Band on my X7 - not a doubleneck. I like the B-Band.

I recently received my red Chimaera.

Great service from Emerald throughout the process. Shipping was quick and without drama.

I love the instrument. It plays wonderfully and is easier to handle than I imagined.

Yum.

Congrats! Which tuning machines did you get and how do you personally find the weight/balance?

"I appreciate the kind words, Tom, but what you did was suggest that Emerald was more flexible, and more reasonably priced thanks to some streamlined process they discovered, which could not be further from the truth. As noted, other than a few limited interest models that few of us will ever think about buying, they have but two models for the average guitar player, an OM, and a 7/8 size travel guitar." Ted

After careful consideration of this observation last week I can't see why we should continue to discuss a guitar few of us will ever think about buying?

Tuners are 510's.

I'm playing it in classical position and there's no issue with balance.

I hadn't tried it standing, but per your inquiry I tried it with a wide, Levi leather strap. OK with my right forearm in postion to play, but neck heavy if I wasn't securing it. I'm not surprised, though. Two necks!

It's very comfortable to play while seated - great access on both necks.

Cool West Mi

I see from your profile Leonard, you're the other guy from Michigan Sean had mentioned bought one too. I'm over on the south east side.

As far as odd instruments go, I'm no stranger to that also being a Chapman Stick player. Over here we have a community of about a dozen or more Stick players. What's really strange is at least three of us including myself own a graphite version that Emmett quit producing around 2008. Anywhere else in the world it's rare to even see one of these around.

I've got a good feeling you and I will not be the only two in this state with this doubleneck

No problem for me at all. It sits well and doesn't force me into a strange position.

The only thing I'm struggling with at the moment is that the necks are offset a bit and if I utilize both necks in an arrangement I sometimes don't make a smooth transition. I call it Sudden Modulation Syndrome (SMS). I'm getting better at this though.

I think you are right about the good news spreading. I checked out your videos and comments during my research/decision making. Thank you! It was a big help to me.

I've always been fascinated by the Stick. I did a gig with a Stick player years ago and it was a glorious sound. I remember playing Phase Dance with him.

For me, that's part of the challenge and fun of such a unique instrument.

Would that be Steve Adelson? He's performed that song quite often. I believe I've got a YouTube vid of him playing it.
