Thank you Tom! I have a lot inspiration to draw from on this forum. The cool part about it being a hobby is that I can do what I want.

Weekend Update, it's been awhile but I got some work done on the neck. Still need to fine tune the angle and finish shaping the back. I'm planning on taking the design style of the rosette and bringing it to the headstock.

Anyway, here's some pics. Enjoy.

Not glued, just seeing how it looks.

Your work is amazing. Can you tell me something about this router jig? Thanks!

I use this for radiusing my fretboard (captain obvious, that's me) . I made the cradle to compensate for the depth of the bit. When the routing is done the center of the fretboard is 1/4 inch thick down it's length.

I forgot to mention that I use a vacuum press to hold down the fretboard. I use pennies under it to keep the vacuum from deforming it. The end result is a 12" radius which I like.

Thanks for asking Habanera Hal.

Weekend Update. Heel has been shaped and I started the headstock design.

I felt it would be nice to mirror the rosette style.

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Very graceful heel curvature, and the headstock will go nicely with the rosette, too.
Cheers,
D.

Thanks Viking! This is my second acoustic guitar. I've built four electric and two cigar box mandolins. I like working up to harder and harder challenges.

Weekday Update. Had the Monday off so I took a few hours to get the headstock on it's way to being done.

Finished the design.

It's currently glueing up.

I suppose I need to put binding around it now.... we'll see how it looks with out it first.
