Just made a few upgrades:

Added new Gotoh mini tuners in cosmo black...

Added a bone saddle and Taylor ebony bridge pins with abalone inlays...

I also removed the pick guard (I generally prefer guitars without them)...

Once I get my custom TRC I'll post a pic of the final product. Time to start working on those tan lines

Default Neck colour

Oh oracle of Taylor GS Mini owners, another question

I've only just realised this.
Is it just me that my Taylor GS Mini-e RW's neck's colour is just really light?
All the pictures I see of GS Minis online have really dark coloured necks, so I went into the city to look at some other GS Minis and mine is the only one that looks light.

What do you guys think?

How about changing tuner knobs? I'd like to get some ivory buttons instead of the chrome that come with it. Any suggestions.

When Taylor figures out how to fit an ES or ES2 pre-amp in the Mini, I might get the ES-T upgraded. I'd gig with this wonderful little box.

Besides that, I'd probably start with replacing pins (bone with abalone inlays) and the saddle, but I might have the saddle done by the guy who replaced the saddle on my 110ce.

"But Cue, there's no GS Mini in your signature!"
Indeed, I don't have it yet.

I have a Holden Village GS mini that has a really light neck, too. The other 4 that I've owned have all been dark. I like the light neck.

That's what I did see page 8 I think, and it was definitely a pain in the *** as I don't really know how to finish wood properly.

Default OK, so I thought I was done...

...with mods on my HV GS Mini, but now think I want to put in a bone saddle and bridge pins. To date, Sapele truss rod cover, Snakewood bridge pins, removed pick guard, Snakewood strap button, Hipshot open locking tuners. Coming, JJB 330 transducer.

I will be (eventually) curing my GAS with a mahogany GS Mini. I wish the promised-for solid wood version wood come out! But I am trying to figure out a way to replace the headstock overlay with real wood and retaining the Taylor logo.

Then I will embark on my fret marker replacement again

Added a Taylor Artist series abalone inlaid TRC to my GSM courtesy of Bill Nichols...

So I've been so enamoured by my GS Mini-e RW, I was given the opportunity to buy a GS Mini-Koa FLTD today, I took it.

Completely unexpected. After some wheeling and dealing of my existing stable, and warnings from my local sellers that prices will go up in the new year due to the collapsing Australian $ and that Taylor were switching the local Australian distributors, I had actually gone into the store to buy another guitar (which I did as well, yes I walked out with 2 guitars. X'mas came early for me.)

What a lovely guitar this Koa FLTD is:
