Default Rainsong Shorty - Gigbag options?

Just obtained a Rainsong Shorty and want to get a gig bag. Would love to hear opinions on options available from AGF members. Many thanks in advance!

Good luck. I've been looking since I bought a Shorty last summer. A bag like that for the Taylor GSmini would be ideal - I haven't been able to find one that has the fit, support, quality construction, protection, AND light weight that the GSmini gig bag has.

Keep us posted in your search - you aren't alone.

I was thinking about getting one of the hard foam cases from GC, nice and light, a bit bulky though, which I don't care about. No idea if it fits yet. I'll wait and see what you come up with first though.

Just received the Gator gig bag from MacNichol Guitars. Great service, great deal, great gig bag! Fits perfectly.

I've been fretting over this for a while. Looking at the Access website, their bags look very similar to the Taylor gig bags. The Access gear bag seems identical to the Taylor gear bag I have... hoping that means the gig bags will follow suit. LOVE that gear bag, btw - can't believe how much it holds in a small case.

I ordered an Access gig bag for Small Body Acoustic - the specs are very close for the Shorty, except for length (and I'm sure you Shorty owners notice that the hard case that comes with the Shorty is longer than it needs to be beyond the headstock).

I'm looking for light weight and a bag that will reasonably hold its shape to protect the guitar. Hoping this is the one. We shove off again in 3 weeks, and I really don't want to drag that heavy hard case on the boat.

I'll let you know in "5 to 7 business days."

Default Found a good soft gig bag

Was looking for a soft gig bag (not a soft case) and found this nice example and it arrived today. Fits perfectly.

So I'll add my find to this thread: Kremona Guitars do pretty much only classical guitars and they have a nice bag (soft gig bag, not a soft case)
( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/acces...ssical-gig-bag $79.00 or from the Kremona website for $99 http://kremonausa.com/en/eshop/productinfo/31/88/)
that fits all their guitars. The Shorty is basically classical sized except for being a little wider than the average classical guitar at the lower bout.

The bag itself is very thickly padded (over an inch) and covered with a nylon covering inside and thicker material for where the headstock and bridge are. The outside is a tougher material in a classy off-green earth-tone with black lines. There are two huge pockets in the front and nicely padded backpack straps in brown. Zippers seem very well made and the whole bag seems very sturdy. Fits the Shorty perfectly.

Considering what I paid for my shorty there is no way on God's Green Earth I would ever consider consigning it to a Gig Bag instead of a proper case.

But, your guitar, your choice.

My Shorty is almost exactly the same size as my Larrivee OM. Main difference is that it is about 3/16" thinner. Thus I would recommend an OM/Classical sized case.

I have a Boulder Alpine that I rather like for my Olympia "Mis-Chief". I just did a check fit with my Rainsong Shortie and it seemed to fit very well. These are quite nice bags, well padded, with a nice pocket for CD's, capos etc. They are also available in colors other than black. If you are going to be outside, then I think it would be really hard to go wrong with a nice Tan one to keep the heat down.

Another option discussed earlier...

Interesting that the search for a gig bag for the Shorty comes up regularly... seems that RainSong is missing something it's customers are wanting.
