Default Long Silent Heart - Original

Thanks for listening. Excuse the noise. I had an old unbalanced rig when I recorded this tune.

That was magnificent!

I love how both voice and music created a very intimate mood.

Loved that one!

I couldn't have said it any better. How old is this recording exactly?

Very old. In December, 2004, I bought a guitar after a 29 year hiatus from it. This song was written and recorded in January, 2005.

I had recently been to NYC and remembered it as a great place to visit but not to live. I had done the same with Chicago and LA. This song is about big city life, generally speaking, through the senses of an outlander who is reluctantly caught up in it and hoping to find companionship. That's pretty obvious in the lyrics, I guess.

I can't remember what guitar that was, though, and it bugs me. I want to say it was a Walden D2040. I had perma-installed a Fishman Neo-D p'up in it and usually played it plugged through a Behringer mini-mixer (UB802) because it was so quiet unplugged. I want to say this song was recorded through that rig. I mention that because the guitar doesn't sound wholly acoustic in this song. Not to my dying ears, anyway.

Beautiful playing and vocal performance, Pitar. Pretty amazing first recording after a three-decade layoff!!! Excellent song, man.
