Default Which Les Paul To Go For???

So I'm going all out and Im going to buy a new Gibson custom shop Les Paul... but I'm torn between two, a lemon burst and a gold top. Both are identical spec besides the top. I think both look lovely but which would you go for?

I have a soft spot for gold tops so that's what I'd go with.
They both look good though.
Can't really go wrong either way.
Good luck!

The only thing I don't like about my goldtop is that I always feel like I should dress nicer when playing it. It's a classy guitar.

The Lemon burst looks nice. Is it an R8?

First off, Congratulations!

They both look awesome! No wrong choice here.

Something to consider: since the wood grain is visible through the Lemon Burst, it might have an added visual dimension in person.

Maybe you can get an advance on your allowance and get both? jk

I think the lemon burst is more visually striking, but the gold top is a traditional classic. I always wanted a gold top... maybe someday.

Be sure to post pics and sound clips when you get the new one. Good luck!

If I'm correct, Gibson haven't designated a specific year to the current crop of custom shop Les Pauls. They call them custom shop standards but they're heavily influenced by late 50s models (50s rounded neck shape, hide glue construction, analine dye etc.) and all have the same specification besides the colour and figuring of the tops. I think!

Okay, I know this is being picky, but I think a 335 needs to have the block inlays. Those trapezoid inlays on the Les Pauls you're considering are Boss!

Got ya. I thought it might have been a reissue rather than a Custom Shop. Regardless, I'm sure it's going to be an amazing Les Paul. You're going with the Goldtop?

Really struggling to make a decision! And now there's the 335 I posted above as well... Leaning towards the gold top at the moment but I'll probably end up getting all 3 pictures up, closing my eyes and pointing my finger at one to make a decision!
