Be sure to at least take a look at the Alvarez Masterworks MDA70CE. At about $900 in the states, it's a lot of guitar for the money.

Being in Spain you might find a great Furch. They are much cheaper in Europe. Or just travel over to the Czech!

All three you mentioned are excellent guitars.
I would add Eastman and Alvarez Masterworks to your list or an Alvarez/Yairi used if you can find any in your area. |

My recommendations:
Seagull Artist Mosaic with QII or Element Takamine Pro Series 3 Martin DRS2 Larrivee D-40 <<< I haven't tried this one, but it seems very nice. |

Thank you for all your help.
The other day I tried a couple of Sigma guitar models: Sigma SDR-28HE and Sigma DRC-41E. I liked them. Have you heard about this brand? My options are one of these Sigma or the Guild D-150CE someone mentioned here. Something I don't like about this guitar is the location of the battery. Seems you have to loosen the strings to change it. Carlos |

The German, made in China, Sigma's get great reviews everywhere. They are licensed copies of Martin guitars. I have a Sigma OM-21 that when I play it I have to remind myself that it's not a real OM-21 Check out Cafe Paradiso on Youtube. They have reviewed a few Sigma's. |

Martin D-16RGT. On the street you should pay $900 for a good one. It's a Martin dread with solid rosewood, scalloped bracing, and a bound fretboard--normally you can't get that combination short of an HD-28 or 40 Series, where you would be spending considerably more than $1200. I've played one and loved it, it's got the Martin sound in spades and projects wonderfully with that scalloped bracing, wish I had bought that one but I will get mine.
The Road Series Martins are close to the D-16RGT but with less appointments and standard bracing, though I've played the MMV, DRSG, etc. and they sound good. I can't recommend any Taylor dreads in that range, I owned a DN3 and the honeymoon was short-lived with that guitar...however, the 710 and 810 are fantastic dreads (but above your price). Most of the old Yairis I see are around a grand and they've got a good sound.

Hi Guys,
I finally made a decision. I found a second hand Martin DCPA4 and I just bought it. I will receive it tomorrow, so I haven't tried it out yet, and I can take it back if I don't like it. So, what do you think about this model? https://www.martinguitar.com/guitars...-series/dcpa4/ Thank you very much for all your help! Carlos |
