I haven't found the prices to be any higher than they are on craigslist or classifieds on the guitar forums.

Anyway, Reverb doesn't dictate pricing; sellers do.

Gonna top this thread with just a couple friendly reminders:

If the instrument you seek is at an actual music store, and you're looking for the best price, call that music store. If you're not a "phone person" (like my wife) and want to do everything via the web, go to that store's website and find the contact email address.

It is happening more and more that buyers are trying to subvert Reverb, using Reverb's interface and instant messaging system to try to negotiate off-Reverb deals. Please, you or the person/shop you're dealing with can lose your account by using their communication platform to try to take a deal off the site. Especially when "Make An Offer" is NOT an option, be mindful before wheeling and dealing.

No trades through Reverb. Just call!

Sorry to rehash like this... but we're getting a *ton* of daily communication through Reverb, and think that everyone will benefit from a little decorum... other shops, please share experience and let us know if there's something that might make the Reverb experience better for you or your customers.
