Default The reason I play a Rainsong

Here's our Christmas season orchestra setup. I was so close to the electric player to my left that I nailed him in the funny bone right in the middle of a song! There are so many things in this picture that could inflict some serious damage to a wood guitar. I was way too paranoid to ever play my 810 in this situation. So I sold it. The rainsong is a real trooper and it sounds fantastic. Oh, and then I can take it and throw it in my backseat and go out to lunch, even in our hot south Florida weather.

Carbons can scratch and dent as well? They are stronger for major hits and temperature changes. I don't like scratched up carbons either?

The reason I play a RainSong: it sounds good.

Oh, like some others, I first bought it because I thought it would be good for our travels - from the boat to the desert. And, it is. But, the Shorty is a fine guitar... sounds good, plays good. I am just as careful with it as I am my wood guitars.

There was some interesting chatter about this very thing where a post someone made mentioned guitar "mojo". Not only to wood varieties gain mojo in sound as they age, they gain mojo in the way that they look.

In my opinion Willie Nelson's soundboard may may take this concept a bit far, but Tommy Emmanuel's guitars have that worn look, and at least in my opinion, look amazing. Carbons on the other hand are not going to have that organic, worn in pair of jeans, look to them.

Carbons on the other hand look great because they are sleek, shiny and flawless.

It's getting mojo for sure. It's the matte finish, hybrid series. The neck is glossing up and the area under my right arm is as well. It's not that it won't scuff or scratch, but when it gets nailed by a trombone, there's not a big dent in it like a wood guitar would have.

Rainsong... takes a lickin', keeps on tickin'... if it walks like a duck, buckle up.
