Default Medium strings used with a Cargo?

I have a guitar with a similar very short scale of 22.75. I am finding that if I use medium strings the tension is about the same as full size guitar and the volume is increased. How many here use mediums on their cargo or cargo sized guitars?

When I had a Cargo, I only used mediums. The strings were way to loose if I used lights.

I found the Cargo to be too temperamental with lights. I put on mediums and immediately got more volume and was able to dig in more with them.

I bought a used Cargo from one of the mods here and it was strung with silk and steel, been using them ever since. Go figure.
