Default Ragging the Blues, Woody Mann cover...

I just learned this within the last hour and actually I recorded it while I was learning it after I did a few slow play throughs. Those F chords, lol.

This is the final recording. Just a touch of noise removal, no other eq. Its recorded with my Gibson J-45. I'm facing the corner again, but the mics are facing the floor, in the direction of the guitar (recorded with two mics). I was too preoccupied to set up a table and set everything up facing the room.

VERY nice, Barry! You sure can get more blues out of your 45 than I could mine. These days my CEO-7 is my blues box.

Nice job ragging the blues. The two microphones and the way you're recording now has 'fullend' - (to fill up, or make fuller) the sound wouldn't you say Barry? Sounds nice, nicely played to.

Thanks everyone! Who would have guessed pointing mics at the floor would give a good result.

My pace so far is one tune a MONTH (I'm a beginner). I'm about 4 days into Creole Baby and still on the first verse!

Thanks again for turning me on to the book. I think it could keep my busy for a very long time. I'm about to watch a video of Woody "Behind the Guitar". Saw the episode on Stefan Grossman last night...so many instructors, so little time

No problem Bob! I take a lot of the songs in the book and throw it into GuitarPro and use that as a trainer. There's a lot of times I need help in getting the tempo down and just listening to the song a million times doesn't always help.

Great job, Barry! You stay right in the pocket here, great tune. The J-45 sounds great, and the recording does it justice. Really nice!

Oh, that was sweet indeed Barry. I can almost picture you with a Panama Hat, Chesterfield topcoat, and a long, gold watch chain.
