I've bought I think four used guitars from them over the years, they have come from GCs all over the states, they've been as described and well packed. I feel like I stole most of them! Yes they take awhile, depends on which store and how busy they are.

Think of it as a blessing, an upgrade to overnight is WAY better for the guitar! Take pics of the box if you note any potential kick or drop spots. Check all over for any undisclosed issues. They got my 1935 National Duolian to me safe and sound!

Thanks for the poster. Too bad that im blind and can't see it.

It's the thought that counts.

If someone could describe the poster to me I could get inspired.

When I placed my order for a used guitar with GC, it was delayed by the "order confirmation" group at corporate. The store couldn't ship it until the Corporate group issued approval.

My order was delayed 3-4 days, the store upgraded me for free to overnight delivery instead of UPS ground.

patience is a virtue

It's a beautiful picture of a sunrise (or sunset) over a hill overlooking a country stream with the words "'The two most powerful warriors are patience and time"--Leo Tolstoy'" over it.

Oh, I didn't realize. I'll describe it: It's a picture of a poster with a quote from Leo Tolstoy: "The two most powerful warriors are patience and time." It's accompanied by a picture of a sunrise or sunset peaking through the branches of a tree with a stream in the foreground. It's one of those cheesy inspirational posters, so in this context it was meant as more of a joke (hopefully you won't have to wait more than a couple of days for your guitar, so the Tolstoy quote is probably inappropriately dramatic).

Hope you enjoy your guitar when it comes.

Default A few words of advice for future orders !

1. Sweetwater
2. Ted at LA guitar sales

Most of my purchases have bee through #1 and generally have a had a positive experience.

Many AGFer's have used and wrote about their excellent experiences with #2 (not to mention he offers an AGF discount, I think). If I ever start ordering on line again, I'll be going with #2.

John

Fact about guitar center: they will make any situation right.
Fact about guitar center: sometimes it is a ginormous headache gettting the situation right.

If it does arrive in less than pristine condition, take pics of the box, then take it out & if there's structural damage, take it back to your local GC to get FULL credit / your $$$ back. Plus, you get 45 days to inspect it with a fine toothed comb, if you really want to.

GC has been very very good to me since I spent about 8K a year ago with them. The only caveat is, if the guitar is fine & you just don't like it, you don't get your shipping costs back (on used items), so consider it a rental fee. The 45 days applies to new & used items.

Good luck on your new arrival. I just got my new used baby, a Yamaha CPX900 yesterday. I'm lovin' 'er!
