Weird, I thought that was my browser. The clip plays fine before uploading, and when I downloaded, it played fine as well. Something apparently damaged in the upload.

No doubt some reverb parameters were a little different. Maybe we can do another experiment on another raw recording and try to match the reverb setting more closely.
Sure, glad to try. I can just transfer the file to you via dropbox to post.

Perhaps one test could be to just use the same preset (which theoretically ) should be the same settings ??

Mostly true however settings for equalization don't change with a preset change. Could bypass equalization entirely though.

If you have some recordings you have made that you especially like the sound of then start a thread, post a clip of them and tell us how you got there.
Hmmmmm maybe my tone got lost in this medium.

I wasn't being critical.

I find the layers of emulation fascinating

I for one did not think you were being critical I simply thought the layers you were listing was just being humorous.

Granted an algorithm of algorithm is unusual, but given the entire paradigm of the approach of Bricasti Design in dedication to sonic excellence, in there M7 hardware unit which has become a hallmark of current digital reverb tech.
I would venture they would not lightly lend their name or give permission for marketing anything less than sonic excellence in a plugin emulation.

To my ear it's a nice reverb, The comparison clips Bricasti/Seventh Heaven sound almost identical to me. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

Derek I haven't heard Suicide is painless since Mash was a regular primetime program. Such a great piece of music, thanks for the reminder. Did you arrange this? Great playing also.

Thanks. I arranged it a while back. Just posted an update with the new reverb back on youtube and an mp3 of the recording on Show and Tell.

.
It's hard to compare reverbs when they're mixed in low like this. We could probably put any number of different reverbs on this track, at this level and not be able to hear much difference. It might be interesting to compare just the reverb with the dry signal killed from this plugin vs the real box.

Here you go:

New dry wav is used (R and L channel volumes balanced).
For reverb setting as in picture of Seventh Heaven Professional above except for the Mix wav
below the mix dial was set at 0/-5.0 db (so you could hear it better).

This seems different. I have:

VLF Cut (set on this patch to -20db by default)
LF RT Crossover Frequency
LF RT Multiply
HF RT Crossover Frequency
HF RT Multiply
Rolloff Frequency
Early Rolloff Frequency

I suspect most of these map somehow, but I don't always see a 1-1 mapping from your screen. The plugin's setup with frequency, Q, gain, etc, isn't something that the Bricastic has (You can obviously add any EQ after the verb that you want in the DAW)

There are also other controls, like density, modulation, diffusion that the Bricasti has that I don't see on your UI. Like Kev, I usually just use presets exactly as is on the Bricasti, they all sound good, and if I don't like one, there's always others. I don't tend to tweak it as much as other reverbs.
