Toby's video reminded me of the old Ronco ads, especially how it is demonstrated how clumsy the other brands are. Another Popeil dollar saver. .......Mike

Stupid question but r these great in the sun or something? I mean it's bright in the vid but it depends more on the type of light not brightness when it comes to sunlight.

Much, much better than all the others I've used in the past.

Toby put it very politely when he said that Snarks tend to break "when things land on them." Every single Snark I've had broke on me, no landing of things required. They're fantastic tuners, as long as you treat them is if you used a raw egg for a guitar tuner. But drop them or put them in your pocket and sit down, and... crack!

The thing is that, while the Venue is pretty darn cool, the tuner is really sketchy. But no means would I rely on that. At most, it's good for a second opinion.

Looks like a cool little tuner, Toby. I'm going to have to try one.

Good review!

The Venue tuner works great for me. I've used it on my D-35, my Taylor 12 string, even double dropped D tunings...tunes them all up perfectly. Perhaps you need to practice with it ?? Why is it I have no problem with it ??????

Never had one break, but then I don't stick them in my pockets and sit on them either .....

Same with sunglasses.

The logo is under a finish of some kind, isn't it? So the logo would be protected. I've also never heard of a clip-on tuner harming a headstock, but that's just me....

Every clip-on tuner I've ever used, I have the display on the back of the headstock. Far less noticeable to the audience that way, and I leave mine on all night on my guitars that don't have built-in tuners. Some little thing on my headstock that's visible to the audience is no big deal to me. I've been using Snarks and have never had one break on me, FWIW.

I don't want to be the first. My D-18 suffered all kinds of bumps and bruises over the years, many of the dings I have no idea how they got there. With my D-35, I'm taking extra very special care with it to keep it nice as long as possible. And no I won't clip capo's on the headstock either. I've gotten out of the habit of clipping things onto the guitar.

That's the way I do it too. Still wouldn't mind a smaller sized one - like the Fender.
