I'm certain the question has been asked a dozen times. The seller has the option of publicly posting question they,ve answered or keeping them private. Just because a question does not appear on a listing doesn't mean it hasn't been asked.

All we can do is see how this plays out. If need be, I'm sure we can help eBay get to Hurtsboro County. We can cheer them on their way, at the very least.

You think the Ebay looks like mahogany?
That grain looks more like pine (shudder!) than anything else.

The questions only appear to the public if the SELLER chooses to add them to the listing.

Here is the latest response from the seller to me.

"Are you having fun young man. I am an old woman who don't have time for this!"

I told her that she was wrong on two counts. I'm not that young and I don't think she (or more likely he) is not that old.

I own a 2012 Martin D-18 Guitar, actually it is the guitar I both practice and perform with.

I just added a bunch of photos of it onto my blog:

One mistake: it's not a raised gold foil logo. It's the old-style decal, which is about 345 times cooler.

There is no way that she's an old woman. Your grandmother would not have written:

"Martin D 18 FOR SALE THIS COMES WITH A MARTIN CASE.

GTREAT PLAYING GUITAR! It is still a little tight because it really hasn't been -played much but tuning it and playing helps. I am minimizing my Martin collection. this is a great price with the case. The case costs 75.00.

The number on the inside is D18 - 537737.

Ask me any questions. Sold as is no returns. I have too many guitars."

Guaran-effing-tee that it's some guy, down on his luck, who needs to raise a grand and fast.

I agree. I meant to say I didn't think he was that old instead of not that old. The only part I disagree with you is that this is someone who is down on his luck. I think he is just a shyster trying to make a buck off someone else.

Based on the serial number (537737), it would be a 1994 as the last number for that year was 551696; http://www.martinguitar.com/about-ma...l-numbers.html

Here is an authentic 1994 Martin D-18 that it should be similar to:

We'll see if we can get this guy's coordinates. Stand by.
