Default NGD - Journey OF660B (Initial Impressions)

First, crappy cell phone pic:

I've got a GS-Mini that has been my traveler, and for the most part it served the purpose. Biggest problem for me was the 1-11/16th neck width.

After checking the reviews on YouTube, I decided that the OF660 would be worth checking out.

Reached out to Ted at LA Guitar Sales, and he told me had a blemished instrument that he would sell me at a discount. So I said I'll check it out.

When it arrived, it took me few minutes to find the blem, so I definitely had no issues there.

As with another report, the only problem out of the box was that the nut was loose. Once the strings were up to tune it was fine.

After playing it a day, I decided it was a keeper and started dialing it in to my preferences.

I first glued the nut back in width a two drops of CA gel.

I also thought the saddle was a bit loose in the bridge, so I fitted in surplus Taylor style saddle that I had laying around.

Put a set of Siminoff medium Straight Up String in it and adjusted the relief.

Wow, super easy to play, and sounds really great. Sits on my lap bunch better than the GS-Mini.

Plugged in tone is spot on. I did run it through a Headway EDM-1 pre-amp which seemed to match up well with the guitar.

All of this in a durable instrument in a easy to breakdown and transport package.

Many thanks to Ted for the deal on the 'blem', and great customer service in getting the guitar to me in a timely manner.

Welcome to Club 660. Had the same thing with the nut on mine.
