Yeah, but where is Waldo?

Pictures like this always amaze me as the wood chips take on a new shape and art form as they come off the end of my wood chisels.

So, one of the goals of this build was to be reminiscent of an older Martin (say 1930's, like the 1932 0-18k I recently purchased.

But that doesn't mean I'm not going to included some new ideas. Like I intend to have a sound port . . . and I'm going to use Tim's clever idea he developed about a decade ago to help transfer some stresses within the guitar.

Dave, you've got some pull. When I asked Tim about an all-Mahogany guitar about eight years ago, he looked at me like my Ph.D. stood for "Permanent Head Damage" (which it well might, come to think of it).

I've listened to that late-1700s walnut tapped. It's something special. And it must be, if you can get Tim to build you an all-walnut guitar. Just way-cool.

Hope to see this one during the upcoming McJam. Will be interesting to hear how the box resonates as I'm sure it will be together by then. Congrats on what looks to be a really nice guitar.

No, she was on the right side. Too many pics of my face will certainly break the camera!

After this build I may be persuaded Mr. PHD ... or not ??? Time will tell but at this point the box sounds quite promising.

What a cool story on the wood!!! Way to salvage precious stuff...

Tim, your stress relief CF rods idea sure worked for John Kinnaird on my new build. Along with a bunch of my ergonomic requests! And his Luthier magic... You guys are wizards, for sure.

Thanks very much for sharing the ideas with him. I really appreciate your help!

This 00-12 should be a real peach!!!

Cheers

Paul

That is such a pretty inside that I wanted to quote it and show it again. Nicely done, looks like a show stopper in the making.
Will that have an elevated foningerboard extension?

I'm always fascinated by the internal structure of Tim's builds. It's really cool when you look inside the finished product through the sound port. I know that John Greven builds boats and it looks like modern luthiers are marrying the two disciplines together with the structural similarities.

Speaking of which, which plate gets glued down first? Top or back?

Hi Paul,

I am glad John was able to incorporate one of our design elements into your build. I have no doubt it was a success, knowing the masterful skill sets that John has.
