Paul I had a J-45 standard when I got my Kopp. The J-45 didn't last long after that. The Kopp is like a J-45 on steroids!

Thank you everyone for the supportive comments and the video links! The guitar probably won't arrive here until the middle or end of next week (I asked them to wait until monday to ship it), but I will definitely post more, including a video, when it gets here. In the meantime, here's another pic from the Gryphon site. They were great, by the way. The fellow I spoke with (Eric) was very helpful on the phone in answering my questions, describing the sound and neck shape, and he even played a little for me.

Check out the wide grain and silking in the adirondack:

I'll let you know next week! People describe the sound as similar to a J45 or J35 from the 30's or 40's. That's what I'm hoping for.

It's here!!!

Spent the evening changing the strings, playing and just plain admiring this thing! First impressions: super responsive and resonant, very open as if it were decades old, surprisingly loud and deep. Really cool!

Here's a quick pic with its new brother, my SC OM Grand. It's fun playing them one after the other to compare. Two great guitars, very different from each other. I'd like to do a comparison video in the next few days, which I'll post here along with more and better pics.

Here are some more pics. I put medium tension Santa Cruz strings on last night, and I really like them with this guitar. I discovered today that it sounds great in DADGAD. I plan to do some recording this weekend.

Again, check out the grain and silking in this Adirondack top:

Beautiful guitar!

A K35 is one of the best guitars I have ever played and that goes for Kevin's AJ as well. It is at the top of my wish list.

Congrats, LWSog! I received mine from Kevin in late May. I could not be happier. I hope you enjoy yours for years to come.

Hey, glad to join you guys in the "Kopp club"! Thanks also to everyone else who posted. Always nice to have the support from my AGF friends! I did a comparison video with my Santa Cruz. Not the smoothest transitions, but you can really hear the difference. I think I'll start a new thread because I have some thoughts about it, but for future searchers of Kopp guitars, I'll post it here as well:

Nice video, thanks. It really shows the difference between then. Very cool contrast and a great sounding pair!
