Therefore, I think R. Taylor makes much more sense for a higher end line/company.
Yes, I agree - "B. Taylor" sounds unimpressive. I think they may have been aspiring to the dignity of a "C.F. Martin" headstock, but as Bob is so very much "Bob", it's come out all wrong, in my view. I think they could have put something after the Taylor name on the headstock to distinguish it - I'm not sure what, though.

But I'm clearly in the minority here - no one else seems to feel as I do - so it can't be a big deal.

I am filled with a jealous hatred of you brother! That is an ultimate cause of GAS.
Even though this is the "Taylor Forum", I must say that I love my McPherson. That said, I think that if I were to add to my collection, it would be an R Taylor Style 1 - either Cedar/Mahogany or Cedar/Rosewood (w/cutaway and stealth ES).

At any rate, here is a nice picture of my McP!

Um, great!!

I have had the good fortune of playing Gary's McP and it is, indeed, a lush, deep, complex guitar. Lovely in every respect! And yeah, this coming from a guy who loves his own RT!
