Default NGD Ibanez AS-50 1981

Just bought a beautiful Ibanez AS-50 made in 1981. Had it setup this week and it plays just great! The condition is excellent. Wonderful tone. Original V2 pups!

Congrats! Looks like it's in great condition. Did you stumble across this one or were you looking for an Ibanez from that time period?

Yes I read some of the reviews and for whatever reason 1981 was a special year for the AS-50. Yes the guitar tech said the condition was excellent. Just got it back from a setup and fret cleaning. Also some of the frets also had to be leveled. Has the original V2s. Plays like a dream!!!

More than competitive with the stuff Gibson was pumping out at the time - and at one-fourth the price...

AWESOME!! I just picked up MY 1st Ibanez guitar last week. It is an '80 AR50 double cut away. It's an amazing guitar that sounds and play good. ONLY negative is that it is HEAVEY.

I'd love to be able to stumble upon and 80's AS model like yours. I've always heard great things about the, but just never had the chance to try one out in person.

Congrats and Enjoy that beauty!!

You bet I do, Tex. I just don't see them around here though, except for that '77 Les Paul that I played last week which already sold.
