Well, life took a few turns like it does, so here we are with an update three years later. I've sprayed clear nitrocellulose on the body.

Installed the truss rod in the neck.

Thinned the fretboard (a fairly thick Martin ebony slotted blank), and inlayed the fretboard.

Inlayed the headstock

I dry-assembled the whole thing to get a feel for the geometry of the deep body with the 12-fret neck. It feels like it will work for me; epecially standing up. Has a really lively tap tone.

Made springback-compensated fret pre-bend dies (5"radius) and a fret press caul (Martin style 16" radius) for my press.

Frets are in and ready for dressing.

Drilled the block. Stain, filler, and lacquer applied to neck. Bridge made and installed. Preliminary lacquer finishing. Neck set and installed (after about 10 test-sets). Tuners installed. Nut and saddle made. Strings installed. Action and relief set.

Tried out "My Girl" - Robinson (dropped D), "Can't Find My Way Home" - Winwood (dropped D), and "Peace Like A River" - Simon.

I like this guitar
