John, you build some amazing sounding instruments that are absolutely beautiful! Hope to run across one in the future.

"CaptBill" Bill Nichols' work adorns my Taylors. Here's one he did for me.

Highly recommended, and he's an AGF Sponsor (and former Moderator). http://www.nicholsinlay.com/

Heres my custom one... I used my wood burner to write "worship" in Hebrew on the TRC of my Taylor 210.

I went with a mermaid for my Breedlove Pacific, in keeping with the aquatic theme:

I commissioned this one for my 110 refurb project. Its a highly figured Sapele - to match the sapele body. This is the approval photo - I haven't received it yet but it looks great.

I had it made by the same eBay-er we discussed earlier.

This is really cool. I have a wood burner myself and may try this at some point this summer. I haven't used the burner in about 5 years so, I'm a little hesitant haha.

Thanks! Yeah I traced it out in pencil first and then I just make a bunch of little dots along the pencil line and then go back and burn it all even... Not too bad and I did do a practice run of a letter or two on a piece of scrap wood first... Good luck!

That's very nice Jeremy. It motivates me too, I might get a blank and maybe put a pattern in it. Sounds like a fun project. Yours might look even nicer with brass screws to match your gold hardware.

Unhappy Boo hoo, I don't have a truss rod cover

Come to think of it, neither do my Gurians or Bourgeois. I never thought of it before. Maybe I don't like truss rod covers???

For my Kim Walker archtop, the floral vine inlay had already been completed when I decided it would look nice potted, so I asked Kim if he could incorporate a vase into the truss rod cover. He said he would mull it over and try to come up with some ideas.

I thought the design and execution were superb and beyond anything I could have imagined.

I am fluent in Hebrew and believe that actually says "C.F. Martin".
