Cool Show Your Custom Truss Rod Cover

This is my only "custom" cover, Paua dot, on my Gibson Les Paul Deluxe. I have the original cover (Deluxe) but I like this one better.

Other than to replace a missing cover, I just have never known any player who does that, gets a "custom" truss rod cover...

Pretty inexpensive "mod", if it floats your boat, though!

When I found out that to have this inlaid in MOP might cost $900, I opted for a TRC from Terrapin for $20. Guess what I do on weekends in the winter?

I got a deal a while back on some koa/abalone TRCs - - we all have our little "issues". The original TRCs are in the guitars' cases for the next guy.

I don't know if custom actually applies, it's a handmade Bill Nichols design.

I have already posted this in the other thread. Just want to join the party.

It's a Bill Nichols custom made.

The spec from Bill says :

Satin finish Ebony TRC with Flamed Maple Purfling. The Taz figures is made of Tazmanian Blackwood with Golden Mother of Pearl, White Mother of Pearl, Ebony and Red Colorcore inlay. Sounds complicated.....
Here's the pic......

Surely you mean $90?! I can't imagine that inlay costing that much!

I have a Bill Nichols custom waiting for my GS5 when I can get back to the US to pick it up this summer. I will post a pick after I get it.

Well this is a "stock" truss rod cover in a custom guitar ... I hope that counts. It is what I call my Stealth Truss Rod Cover. It is fairly hard to see (that's the idea) but if you look carefully you can just make out the outline about 5/8" up from the nut.

I've liked the idea of a custom TRC, but never got around to actually doing anything about it.
