Gotta love estate sales
really, all my stuff is from pawn shops and estate sales, i went out today with the idea of just looking, there it sat- looked as good as it did back in the 70's- Multivox MX30 sitting on prostyle stand, i offered $60 and they said $65, i said yea ok- bought it and left, its really nice, the manual controls are a nice feature over the 'push the button' these days, checking ebay they're worth some bucks, but ill play with it a while 1st

The Yairi DY 73 in my signature block came from an estate sale in the community I live in. They were asking $800.00 for it including the hard shell case. All the original paper work for the guitar was in the case. The guitar was virtually new. The strings on it were old and dull. I tuned it up and it play well for a guitar with very old strings on it. I detuned it so anyone else trying it would hear a crappy sounding guitar. I made an written offer for much less on the Saturday morning. My wife and I left with the other items we purchased.
I came back at 3:30PM Sunday and the guitar was still there. I told the lady conducting the sale I was here to get the guitar. She tried to talk me up and I walked away to see if there were any other bargains. Ten minutes later the lady came and got me and said OK on the offer. $300.00 took the guitar home. Cleaned up and restrung the Yairi came to life. It is cedar over mahogany with an edge burst finish. I use Addamas 1818 strings on it and I describe the sound as warm and mellow. It simply hugs you with the sound. The estate sale purchase was the first of thee Yairi's that I now own. It's the one on the left in the photo. Center is the DY-91 and the guitar on the right is the DY-99A. Left to right that is the order I purchased them in. The DY-99A is the guitar with the carbon neck.

detuning was good, great looking guitar too, this sale was half off after 1, i didnt want to wait- another guy there but had an eye on an old tube amp- this amp was all in 1 unit but the 12" speakers detached in their section of the case
