Default Martin 0-12vs mmv

I bought one at Tacoma Guitar Center last week, on impulse. It sounds great -- someone in the next room at GC thought I was playing it through an amp, it has such great volume and projection. I appreciate the info on the model in this thread; the salesperson at GC didn't know a lot about them. On the neck block, instead of having the model and the serial #, it says "Custom" and then the number. Is that because this is a special order for GC?

Someone described its neck as chunky. Not compared to my Guild acoustics, it ain't. To me it feels thin and very playable. I'm pretty happy with it, to say the least.

Actual scale length is 25.34, compensated scale length is 25.47. Nut width is
1 11/16 and at the 12th fret 2 1/8. Top bracing is non-scallop A frame X. IMHO this is a very unique guitar for the money. Oh yeah, East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka top and braces, ebony bridge and fretboard, Grover Sta-tite gold tuners. The compromises are the mortise and tenon primarily. It would be great to have two of them and compare the sound. Generally people seem to like them though.

Question Martin Custom 0-12VS MMV

Has anyone yet figured out what the body dimensions and nut width are on this model? Is it the same mold as the 0 28 vs or not? It is odd that a seller will not provide these essential measurements when they advertise. Nut width, lower and upper bout width, and depth. The pictures more or less give us the scale and head shape, but where do we do get the real details on bracing and wood types. Odd?

There is a really bad one at GC Santa Clara (CA). I'm sure most of them are nice guitars, but the one in Santa Clara is a dud. The bass is totally muffled and out of balance with the rest of the guitar.

Don't get that one!!!

Sorry for raining on the parade a bit.
