Default Deal- Jerry Garcia cover with the next generation of fans on lead.

Here is the other Dead cover we put up for Dead Covers Project 2024. This song, Deal, was from the 1972 record “Garcia” and became a mainstay of their live performances. Between GD and JGB I probably saw Garcia play live 30 times from 1976-1995.

Will take the family to Vegas for D&C in June at the Sphere and maybe Mayer will crank this one out.

If you like it give us a on YT.

Thanks for listening.

Really nice one Joe. I think that’s one of the tastiest leads I’ve heard your son take and he’s played some good ones, so that’s saying something. Kind of funny to see a Strat with a Floyd Rose with the whammy bar taken out, but doesn’t seem to hurt anything. Big thumbs up.

Well, that was very well done! What fun, once again! Good for you, Joe! Nice playing by both of you!

Joe, it sounds great, man. Your son is killing it, and I love the fact that you are rocking the old Yammie.

I have played a bunch of Dead tunes over the years, but I never touched that one for some reason. I guess I just gravitate toward Jerry ballads, lol.

Thanks Ray. This 80s MIJ strat is awesome. Was his first real electric. The floyd rose bridge does complicate string changes but my son does most of the pitch modulations with bends. without the whammy for vibrato. It does stay in tune no matter what!

Love that 80's Yamaha. It's the "L " series-- solid woods and MIJ. Thanks for listening Tim.

This is so fun.

"Deal" was the tune that taught me how to play changes. It's not an exaggeration to say it's the most important tune I've ever learned.

This was a lot of fun, really well done.

That first Jerry album was the hook that landed me for life.

Thanks Mr Beaumont. One of my favorites. This is definitely one where even though I know the words, I need the music just to keep track of all the changes even though the changes are not complicated, they move a little fast for me!

Tune definitely moves!

Its such a great tune to get out of trying to find one scale to use for a solo and address each chord as it comes up.
