That's a very different question than your thread title suggests... You might consider changing it to "Victory Rag -- help with riffs?" or something like that!

I guess it's those three bits in the last time through where he's up the neck and playing high fretted notes and open strings to get those fast runs. The time for learning those runs is when you can play the basic tune at full speed. Can you do that?

Today I can play the basic pattern pretty well. now i want to learn how to add some flavor to it. i tried to slow down this audio but i couldnt find the exact notes. i guess the speed of playing makes it what it is. beside of the beauty of this lets say special part, i want to make my playin more variable and fun to me when i play.

OK try this for the phrase at 0.45

Code:
E╓─────────────────┬─────────────────┐
B╟───────0─────────┼───0───0─────────┤
G╟─────6───6───────┼─6───6───6───────┤
D╟───7───────7───7─┼───────────7───7─┤
A╟─0───────────0───┼─────────────0───┤
E╙─────────────────┴─────────────────┘

. .1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + . 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
This phrase is played with a different kind of alternate thumb picking. It is picked thumb, finger, thumb, finger, all the way through. Probably your first finger is strongest.
