Beginner Chord Progressions
Looking for some suggestions on some fun beginner chord progressions.
My chord formations are coming along and starting to feel somewhat comfortable switching chords. Looking for some chord progressions, as I want to start to increase my speed, but at the same time keep my accuracy. |

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here, but is that one strum per chord? Thanks.

Either can be played any way that sounds good for a particular song. I usually see them played four strums per measure when used for starting practice material though.

This tool was posted a while back and generates most familiar progressions.
The only problem with it is doesn't specify how many measures of each chord. http://www.acousticguitarforum.com/f...d.php?t=324390 |

I love Ultimate Guitar Tabs. It's so easy to pull up whatever you want. Also, check out some Neil Diamond stuff. Some of it is amazingly easy and fun to play. Two that come to mind are Solitary Man and Holly Holy.
Knocking on Heavens door is also fun to and play and sing to....G, D, Am7 then G, D, C. You can be as complicated or as simple with the strumming as you want.

Been on the road - just got home so I'm a bit late to the party. Familiar progression in different keys...you will have to supply the rhythm Each progression is done in a couple three keys (except the G-L-O-R-I-A example) I ||: G | C | D | C :|| With the proper rhythm it becomes "Hang on Sloopy" II ||: D | G | A | G :|| or a few other 1950s-1960s rock chord progressions III ||: E | A | B | A :|| Make the third chord a minor, and it becomes Louie Louie I ||: G | C | Dm | C :|| II ||: D | G | Am | G :|| III ||: E | A | Bm | A :|| Another common one… I ||: G | Em | C | D :|| II ||: C | Am | F | G :|| Heart and Soul Progression And a variation of it is… I ||: G | Em | Am | D :|| II ||: C | Am | Dm | G :|| Another back-in-the-day progression… ||: E E | D A | E E | D A :|| Otherwise known as G-L-O-R-I-A A common minor progression… I ||: Em | Am | B(7) | Em :|| The third chord can be a major or a 7th chord II ||: Am | Dm | E(7) | Am :|| Hope these help... |
