Adding UST to archtop...HELP
I have an archtop that has the floating humbucker. I want to add a second source for more of an acoustic sound blended with the electric sound. What is recommended for that second source. I have no experience with archtop pickups other than the normal humbucker at the neck system.
I would appreciate any ideas from those who have tried this and found that it sounds great. I will run both signals to a preamp for eq and volume adjustments.

I had a JJB PPS-200 first, mounted on the inside of the soundboard with one head located opposite where each bridge foot makes contact. I highly recommend SBT's like JJB or K&K over ANY UST.
I later added a floating mag pu. Wired both pu's to a TRS jack with the mag on the tip and piezo wired to the ring. Use a TRS cord into a Baggs Mixpro. Since a mag and piezo have radically different outputs you can't just run them both to a passive device. Then run a regular mono cable out to amp/PA. |

This is helpful. So go for a SBT. I have no problem with the mismatch of the two pickups since I have an abundance of preamps to choose from with two channels in and one out, or two out.
I will now take a look at the JJB products. Thanks very much.
