Default My Experience at the 2017 Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase

I just came back tonight from attending this year's event. I have to say every time I attend my mind is blown, not just by the incredible amount of artistry and talent, but the welcoming nature of all the exhibitors. It was great to see some familiar faces again, as well as meet new ones, having not attended in a while.

It was amazing how many people attended the event - parking was pretty crazy! Very happy to see.

More to come; it does feel good to get back into the swing of things...

Before I begin, I apologize that I wasn't able to meet with more luthiers at the show, as I decided to go at the last minute, and didn't plan to stay the weekend like I normally do. Also it was pretty crowded, even until closing on Saturday, so many of the pics got decapitated....

One of the latest from Woody Phifer. The man makes some crazy contours on his guitars; I remember his electrics from the 90s...

Michi Matsuda... he told me the pickguard is reminiscent of those found on Japanese instruments.

A MDW and OM from Jason Kostal. Thanks so much for our extended conversation, you and all there are inspiration for me.

The ever-cool Chris Ensor, who has helped me out getting some of my woods processed for building. One of his amazing guitars:

Some of the craziness from Klein/Kauffman:

I had pics of Martin Keith's, MJ Franks, and Julian Gaffney's latest creations, but for some reason I can't find them on the phone... Sorry guys!

There were so many more exhibitors I wanted to visit, but couldn't because of time restraints.

Shout out to Baker Rorick for yet another incredible event! I love the venue, and hope it gets better and better!

This looks like one of Paul Woolson's guitars.

Default Woolson

Yes, definitely Paul's - and priced the same as his "regular" guitar that was next to it. You could lose yourself in looking at that.
