the actual gel or acrylic DOES NOT damage the nail. bad application will.

If I had a choice I'd go for natural nails but due to the unfortunate table saw accident the nails on my m and a pickin fingers are totallly stuffed.

I tried the full-on nail salon route a few times but found that it was impossible to disbuse the "nail techs" of the notion that beauty was more important than functionality.

I've got it down to a fairly simple DIY method now, simply using superglue to attach one of the many plastic nails you find hanging on the drugstore wall. After shaping I coat the new nail in superglue,, which makes it tough and long lasting. Usually i can get 3-4 weeks use of them before they either fall off or get enough damage to require replacement.
