Not allowed my Vibrolux be stolen.
Tried harder to find someone to jam with in the mid 80's so I wouldn't have stagnated then grew bored and quit playing until almost 2 years ago. |

I wish I'd have started playing 25-years earlier...

These are fun games to play but I'm old enough to know now that they are silly games none the less and serve no useful point; life had a purpose for the path we came up on to make us into the people we are today and without that path we would not be the people we are and to speculate outside of that to something else is to say that we know better than the providence of the time that was cast before us and makes not more sense than spitting into the wind.
BUT IF I WERE to enter into such speculation my deepest regret is that I ever laid down this instrument in my early 20's for so long which gives me so much joy. Beyond that, no regret.

Practiced more so I wouldn't be playing catch up now.
I don't suck, but I could be farther along than I am. |

Nuthin'. I'm completely self taught, it's been a great journey and I'm happy with the way things turned out.

Played more with other people.
Found more ways to play in front of an audience.

I think I'll learn a classic 1-guitar bluegrass tune. Just because. Ideas welcome.

The usefulness of a thread like this is probably in giving someone totally new some ideas about what to do, or not do.

I'd learn at least one formal style from an instructor. I'm self taught. I do love the techniques that I've developed on my own through creativity and experimentation. What I don't like it my lack of improv skills. I am a songwriter, and I'm very good at it, but I have a serious inability to "jam". I wish I knew the Blues backwards and forwards, or Bluegrass, or even wished I'd studied classical guitar. Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk
