LOL, it's truly a matter of when. After that, I'm mostly done. Maybe a harp guitar and a 12 string somewhere down the road.

LOL. Probably a little out of my price range until my kids are done with school. I let my son read some of my guitar books. He asks if I could buy him a Wingert acoustic if he gets good grades.

Not a bad incentive, unless he'd be getting good grades, anyways. If so, he is setting you up.

We have three boys, now young men. When our middle boy was about six, it was just him and me on our lovely 30's British-built sailboat, on the Maine coast approaching our home. A stunner of a mid summer evening, with the water moving like liquid mercury. Flat calm wind, with only the chug chug of the Yanmar diesel breaking the silence. I had one arm around him, and the other on the tiller. A flawless Norman Rockwell moment, until he looked up at me with inquisitive eyes and said, "Pop, who gets the boat when you die?"
"Mom."

Our youngest, at about the same age asked, "Pop, when do we get the inheritance - when we move out?
"No. When I move on."

You can't make this stuff up.

We are moving forward, as y'all can see. The fretboard (rosewood) is attached to the neck (mahogany). And he fashioned an alternative volute for me. His standard design cramped my hand, undoubtedly owing to bad technique on my part, which is no fault of his. But, I prefer the more svelte line of the alternate. Check out the precision joinery. Max has skilled hands and keen eyes. I think the combination of Moon Spruce, Euro maple, rosewood and mahogany is beautiful.

Thanks, mate. This is my hand bumping up against the default volute on one of Max's 00. Not comfortable for me, owing to my own foible. But I still would have preferred the less sculptural version shown above.

Those woods fit together perfectly, not only in a physical sense, but visually as well. I'm looking forward to seeing it with finish on.

Below are images of my guitar, that is truly coming into its own, and beautifully. Max has got it all together, and will be sending it off to the finisher once he completes the pore filling process. I could not be happier with the elegant design, our choice of wood stock and Max's undeniable talents as a luthier. Regrettably, the images appear to be significantly compressed when uploaded, and do not do the guitar justice.
