Default Any decent guitar stores in Toronto, Canada?

Hi Guys,

In about two weeks I'll be going to Canada for a business trip. I though I would profit from that fact and visit some guitar stores while being there.

Can you recommend decent stores - with good selection and reasonable prices in Toronto?

I have found "12th fret" which looks promising, but I am sure there are others...

Oh, I forgot to add - I am interested in nylon strung guitars primarily.

Many Thanks

The Twelfth Fret is the best place to go if you're serious about acoustic guitars, archtops, and older electrics.

Cosmo Music

10 Via Renzo Drive
Richmond Hill, ON L4S0B6, Canada
(905) 770-5222

is a big suburban music superstore in the northern part of town. I've bought several things there.

There are plenty of branches of Long and McQuade scattered around town. They likely have everything you're looking for, or can get it quickly.

But if you want to talk to really knowledgeable and friendly salespeople, check out Twelfth Fret. They also let you try out expensive guitars for as long as you want. There are several semi-quiet booths in the store to try out guitars when it gets busy.

If you are in the downtown area Ring Music is worth checking out.

The Twelfth Fret is a must see. One of the top 5 great acoustic stores in North America, IMO.

+1 Great selection! Kinda cramped in there, too, but that's because of all the gear

You could try contacting the local finger style club and see if they have any tips on nylon string sources in the city.
