I sent the pics to Taylor for a repair quote but if they don't think it has to be repaired I will probably leave it alone for now.

No repair needed. Just keep your phone away from the guitar from here on.

Bummer, but it’s just a ding. Not worth the cost to fix if you plan on playing it. If you bought it to ogle and look at then perhaps fixing those two tiny dings might be worthwhile.

Play it, love it, enjoy it. That is a stunning guitar.

Guess it was sooner rather then Later.

Still, a stunning looking guitar. Congrats

Yeah, my primary concern was if it was something that necessitated repair. If that isn't the case, I will likely leave it alone since these won't be the last marks it will get.

Really nice guitar. I’ve had similar happen with brand new items. Like when I was moving an old part in the garage and dropped it on my new cars rear fender. I try and think of it as champagne when you are launching a boat for the first time. Congratulations.

What a unique, gorgeous guitar...congratulations!

...and that set of rosewood...wow! Madagascar maybe? Amazon?

Enjoy the guitar! We're all human and make boo-boos from time to time...but we learn.

I did hear back from Taylor and honestly it's not that expensive to fix. The important thing is they said it isn't necessary so I am going to leave it unless I ever go to sell or trade it.

I love loooove the rosewood on this. The build sheet says "crazy rosewood" and notes a specific wood selection but it doesn't look like and EIR I have seen. It had a $1,000 upcharge on the build.

It's one of those "I never ever play it because I'm too busy looking at it" guitars! Handsome Taylor.

Ouch! I know that first ding hurts.
At least now you can say that the guitar is truly yours.
