I saw something like this, installed in a Martin, I think it was, at Wintergrass this year. Interesting to fool around with. Not really on my radar, however.

Looks like they're really onto something. This would eliminate having to lug around heavy amps. speakers, recorders, cables etc.
Unfortunately, I think it requires 4 car batteries to operate. |

Yeah and the fact that they played some of the worst effects that never belonged in an acoustic guitar setting.

I can't remember where but I already saw someone else "invent" this exact same thing.

I think this is a pretty neat idea, and I'd think many guitarists could make good use of a tool like this to express themselves in new ways.
However, it seems like a mistake for a tech company to try and break into the guitar-manufacturing business. Seems a better approach would be to focus on the technology, and leave the guitar building to those that're already good at it. |

But. Does it have auto pilot?

Wow, they have carefully researched everything you don't want or need on an acoustic guitar and put them on.
Besides, Yamaha has already done something similar and it sounds terrible.

The technology is neat, but the execution of delivering a totally squared away, easy to own automobile has been a failure. Additionally, his ability to ramp up production has been a dismal failure thus far. Tesla's are novelties, not appliances you can count on day after day like a Toyota Camry. My opinion, only, of course. |

I think this is like the tonewood amp, right? Anyway, the guy at the shop was really enthusiastic about this new, built-in thing but it did not ring my bell...though the guitar was pretty nice with the amp turned off.

Reminds me of the "Acoustic Guitar" setting on electric guitar amp modelers. |

If they tried to make a high end guitar, maybe?
I think that is the nice thing about the tonewood, you can use it on far nicer guitars, and don't have to worry about making a guitar. |

they don't indicate what battery(ies) it takes. if one single watch type, then no problem, if heavy batteries then that has to affect the sound due to the weight. aren't there already two or three of these things out? does it come with a tonerite that will play it for you while you drink your beer and eat your chips?
play music!
