Talking NGD: Maingard 000

Got this a few days ago and wanted to share. It's a great condition Maingard 000 from another AGFer. GAS should be abated for a little while at least while I try to bond with this sweet little guitar.

000 12 Fret model
Length: 20 9/16″
Upper bout: 10 15/16″
Waist: 9 15/16″
Lower bout: 15 3/16″
Depth at tail: 4 5/8″
Nut: 1 3/4"
Saddle: 2 1/4"
Top: European Spruce
Rosette: Maple
Back/sides: Brazilian Rosewood
Binding: Ebony/Maple
Bridge: Ebony
Headstock veneers: Brazilian Rosewood

The figure of the BRW is outstanding. And the tone is very rich and full--due to the Euro/BRW combo. It puts out a lot of sound for its size. Not as much as my slope shoulder dread, but still close enough that it's amazing.

Also has a cutaway and dual bevels for comfort. The bevels are great--I wish all guitars had them!

I know it didn't happen with pics, so here are some:

Full guitar:

Frontal shot, outdoor and indoor:

Headstock in BRW:

The back, with crazy figuring:

Congrats, it's a beauty! My Maingard Grand Concert is my finest guitar, with the same European Spruce and Brazilian Rosewood combo as yours.

Enjoy it!

That's an interesting, great looking guitar. Maybe a sound clip at some point?

Quick soundclips uploaded. Apologies to your ears, hopefully it doesn't ruin people's impressions of the guitar itself!

You can also compare it against other guitars I have/had:

Owned one like this a few years ago. Loved it, but my right shoulder couldn't take the body depth on it. Great piece.
